Here is the best spreadsheet to use to maximise income from your stadium:

Hmm, why do you only seem to have one standing space in your ground? Smile

Standing spaces only generate about 25 cents each as profit so it is virtually pointless having them. I have demolished all mine to maximise the profit from my other sources.

Why does that maximise the other seats? Surely 25c for each seat is 25c more than you get if you don't have them. Or do punters who would have gone into the cheap seats now go to more expensive seats? I am a little confused geek

I was under the impression from hiphop and others that that wasn't the case. That if you demolish your standing seats you will just lose that revenue and people wont go to another type of seat?
The last time I saw advice on it was to not demolish your standing areas, but not expand them either.

Just check your stadium best configuration by entering the current number of members you have and see how much more profit you can get than currently.

I haven't downloaded it. So, is it the case that standing makes a profit? If it does, I don't see why you would get rid of them. From what Jeremy has said, supporters who would fill the stands don't go elsewhere if there are no stands available. If standing does not make a profit then Jeremy is mistaken about how the stadium income work, or so it would seem.

Standing does make around $25C per person.

I will be honest, we did a lot of work on Planet Rugby regarding the stadium, the 3rd spreadsheet I add it defiantly the best one to use, no standing seats just means people won't sit in that section. But having seen plenty of different configurations with stadiums with no standing, lower standing seats than normal, and the so called "Optimal" configuration, no standing is leaps and bounds the most profitable.

That is a quote from Howzat (Hiphop) from the Australia offsite forum that talks about all the analysis we did over at Planet Rugby of the best stadium configuration.

I just don't see how the two staements are compatible. Either standing seats give you a profit or they don't. According to Jeremy, if a punter cannot get a standing seat they won't go to a more expensive one. So surely any profit is better than no profit, so might as well keep the standing you have.

I think the point is that when you take into account the staffing costs of an extra 2000 or so standing seats you are reducing the overall profit.

Out of interest, if you don't mind me asking, how much do you make in a home game? I'm considering expanding my stadium and want to know if it's worth getting rid of the standing

So it is staffing levels needed for these standing seats that makes them unprofitable? What is confusing me is that they are said to make a profit but the advice is to get rid of them.

    This is my current stadium:

    Standing: 1
    Uncovered Seats: 5017
    Covered Seats: 3865
    Members Seats: 1033
    Corporate Seats: 133
    Total Capacity: 10,049

When I fill it I make just under $170K profit - but I haven't filled it for a while as my members happiness is not great due to me playing so many recent games WNWIM.
