    WASC S30

Post by callum on Mon Nov 28, 2016 1:38 pm

    Hi Everyone,

Any chance we could try and get this up and running again.

I will put my hand up to track the results and format the tables if there is someone who is able to put out the fixtures.

I think it'd be good to get the offsite community playing together,

Have no issue with that myself. Have previously invited others from other places to make up the numbers

I'll be away in the states until the 21st from Sunday so by the time I come back so I can get it sent out that week.

It'll be a short WASC this season, maybe we can get 2 games in a week for the last 8 weeks of the season if that's possible?

Let's do it. I can get a quick comp going tonight (can start working out groupings)

I will do a quick count and split into groups if we have to. Anyone else

Up to 10 confirmations. Look like this will be a go. I am thinking of just playing each other once (but may have to throw a couple anytime fixtures in as not enough weeks left)

Maybe split into 2 divisions at least of maybe 6 if a couple more sign up

So if Jonny accepts we are up to 15 (and he said he had a list of foreign managers who needed gametime too). I can throw an affiliate in to make it an even number if necessary

    Current signups:

    Newgale Dragons
    Laims Utd
    Hermon Hawks
    Dougal's Dynamos
    PT Wizards
    Cwmllynfell Cats
    The Plan
    Rainbow Children
    Scarlet Mariners
    Glyndwr
    Wilsons Wildknights
    Pen y Banc Tigers
    Seattle Seahawks
    Monmouth Druids
    Cwmtyrch Boars?

So thinking of some rule changes:

    Scoring
I am going to remove the BPs and go for the 6 Nations style of 2pt win, 1pt draw and 0pt loss. Due to wnwim and weaker fields fielded, BP's can distort the results (also form a purely selfish point of view, easier to update the spreadsheet). Ties will be settled by points difference

    Division lineups:
Going to use random.org to set the division lineups. Rankings or team strength does not come into play (kinda tempted to keep doing this season on season so we all play different teams). Will rename it Div A, B, C, etc).

I am going to try and keep an even number of teams so there are no byes. the ideal for the amount of time left will be 6 teams per division

    Season structure:
This season will be shortened, and involve playing each team in your league once only. This should take 5 weeks, but will be padded out with some inter-divisional friendlies. Also due to the short notice up front and the holiday, the first games will be considered pre-season friendlies, and inter divisional, commencing next Monday. So league play kicks off in 2 weeks

    Fixture non acceptance:
Not accepting a fixture will result in a 20-0 default win for the opposition. No time this season for rearranging fixtures (20-0 will not punish the team that accepted too badly, but am open to other suggestions as there is no ideal here except accepting all games. am considering a 1-0 win too)

So divisions from random.org are as follows:

    Div A
       Rainbow Children
       Newgale Dragons
       Pen y Banc Tigers
       Glyndwr
       Seattle Seahawks
       Hermon Hawks

    Div B
       Scarlet Mariners
       Cwmllynfell Cats
       Cwmtyrch Boars?
       Dougal's Dynamos
       Wilsons Wildknights
       Monmouth Druids

    Div C
       PT Wizards
       The Plan
       Laims Utd
...plus any other signups (or we throw in affiliates)

    Fixtures to follow
